LIGHT INSTALLATION

During the initial phase of construction of the Federation Tower we were asked to create a concept design for a conference room. We proposed a suspended glass object that could be lowered at night into the atrium, becoming a giant light fixture to illuminate the entrance to the Federation Tower. The light, emitted as a pulsation of varying intensity, would suggest a heart beat pattern, bringing the atrium to life. This idea was not accepted but led to another one…during the construction period of the skyscraper, a giant red heart beat inside the skeleton of the Federation Tower, illuminating the long Russian nights!
